You’re the People & Finance Admin we’ve been looking for, and you’re going to join our team.

What You’ll Do

As People & Finance Administrator at Madwell, expect an ever-changing workday. You’ll support our finance and people operations team at Madwell by maintaining employee files, generally keeping on top of our payroll process and preparing special reports for management. Basically keeping the ship sailing smoothly for a team of staff that spans Brooklyn, Denver and Hong Kong.

Specifically, you’ll be:

  • Responsible for maintaining the payroll processing in three offices, including new employees, leave, terminations and remuneration changes
  • Overseeing the administration of overtime, travel and other reimbursements
  • Coordinating between Madwell’s finance and people operations to ensure flow of employee data is up-to-date and accurate
  • Ensuring that new and existing Madwell policies and federal and state law are upheld, as well as preparing tax filings
  • Preparing month-end journals and reporting that integrates into Madwell’s financial system
  • Coordinating freelancer payroll through a third-party provider and maintaining proper records
  • Providing general administrative and office management support as needed
  • Keeping company time-keeping records accurate, complete and running reports as needed
  • The conduit for employee questions around payroll

  • Moderate to severe case of perfectionism with a strong work ethic (you can’t help but go above and beyond)
  • Able to maintain a high level of professionalism, and comfortable handling highly sensitive information
  • Astute problem solving and strong critical thinking ability
  • Attention to detail
  • A flexible attitude when it comes to balancing a changing roster of priorities

Where You’ve Been

  • 3+ years in a payroll or HR administrator role
  • Previous experience in a creative agency or studio setting not a requirement, but a plus
