What You’ll Do

As our director of all things HR, you’ll oversee employee relations for a creative agency of 80+ employees. You’ll help build our team by overseeing recruitment duties, including reviewing candidates, onboarding and training new recruits, and overseeing affirmative action and equity programs. You’ll help keep our team happy, healthy, and productive by acting as a trusted ombudsman when called upon.

Specifically, you’ll be:

  • Developing, implementing, and administering human resource plans and procedures for all company personnel
  • Partnering with management and employees to communicate policies and procedures in adherence with the latest laws, standards, and government regulations
  • Shepherding onboarding paperwork (I-9/E-Verify, W4, Handbook distribution, etc.) and verifying that documents are up to date and completed correctly
  • Administering our compensation program
  • Monitoring our performance evaluation program and revising as necessary
  • Performing benefits administration, including claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment, and communicating benefit information to employees
  • Handling employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling, and exit interviewing
  • Participating in development of department goals, objectives, and systems
  • Assisting in evaluation of department reports and decisions in relation to established goals; recommending new approaches, policies, and procedures to help improve department and services efficiency

Recruitment & onboarding obligations include:

  • Conducting recruitment effort for all personnel, including interns and temporary employees
  • Writing and placing advertisements
  • Reviewing incoming resumes and sourcing talent for various departments
  • Mastering our applicant tracking system, Jazz, and helping to coach our team on its functionalities
  • Screening potential candidates for cultural fit, technical chops, curiosity about the ad tech space, scheduling and availability, interest level, and salary range
  • Conducting new-employee orientations
  • Evaluating our process for efficiency and recommending improvements
  • Becoming an active voice for recruitment initiatives at weekly resourcing meetings

Our Must-Haves:

  • Outrageously good interpersonal skills with the ability to establish, manage, and maintain strong relationships
  • The drive to proactively discover, research, and implement healthy solutions
  • Tact, discretion, and the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Strong cultural intuition
  • Experience in behavioral-based interviewing and other innovative selection methods
  • Knowledge of employment law and harassment and discrimination law
  • Familiarity with an ATS system is a plus
  • An eye for detail and relentless follow-through
  • Zen-like ability to turn pressure into a calm and collected game plan

Where You’ve Been

  • Minimum 7 years of HR experience
