Freelance Experiential Producer

You’re that rare transcendent being that lives at the corner of driven and personable. You’re the Freelance Experiential Producer we’re looking for, and we want you to join our team.

What You’ll Do

Day to day, you’ll be orchestrating vendor relationships with internal teams of designers, copywriters, developers, UXers, and others to produce a steady flow of our experiential projects, always ensuring that Big Ideas don’t dwarf business goals—or get sidelined by the bottom line. You’ll work as an integral part of our Production team to help evolve and implement new and stronger processes, keeping projects productive and healthy over time. From experimental installations to events, you’ll help bring creative ideas to life.

Specifically, you’ll be:

  • Working directly with other producers, our internal design team, and outside vendors to produce experiential events in various locations
  • Facilitating project communication so client and team are informed, ready, and able to execute
  • Working with clients and internal teams to define and achieve project goals
  • General event planning and pre-production from our office in Brooklyn and then potentially travel to one or more locations to oversee the work
  • Engaging and managing vendor relations including crews, catering, installations, photo, getting necessary permitting, etc.
  • Coordinating onsite, and managing the showrun
  • Owning documentation such as proposals, scoping new work, production schedules and budgets

Our Must-Haves

  • An unshakeable desire to be a creative problem solver
  • Past experience with large scale experiential activations
  • Proficiency with smartsheets or another preferred schedule building tool
  • Availability to work weekends if needed leading up to event
  • A willingness to travel, as well as the ability to work onsite in the Madwell offices
  • An easy, thoughtful manner and calm under pressure
  • The ability to clearly articulate your ideas, both verbally and in written form

Where You’ve Been

  • 5 - 7 years years as an experiential producer or event planner
  • Experience working in a full-service creative agency a plus
  • Experience working with an in-house design team a plus
