Senior Comms Strategist

What You’ll Do

As Senior Strategist at Madwell, you’ll be responsible for developing strategies across all phases of the client relationship including initial brand strategies, ongoing campaigns, one-off activations, or new product launches. You’ll balance your time between rolling up your sleeves to work with your internal colleagues and working directly with the client to sell, promote, and defend our work. You’ll be our in-house expert on everything related to the client’s business, brand, and target audience and you’ll routinely identify new opportunities and insights to inspire our team. You’ll utilize our existing tools and processes while adding your own unique expertise to ours, leading and mentoring others along the way. 

Specifically, you’ll be:

  • Developing, refining, and documenting brand strategies and campaign/comms strategies across 1-2 large accounts
  • Listening to our client’s business needs and working with senior strategy and account partners to meet and exceed their objectives and KPIs
  • Developing and maintaining the consumer profile for creative and strategy teams to foster a deep understanding of audience/consumer insight and behavior
  • Guiding creative teams through the briefing, idea development, and evaluation phases, and setting up the work for success in presenting to clients 
  • Partnering with Account Directors to uncover future opportunities for our clients
  • Overseeing, and conducting if necessary, primary field research including interviews, focus groups, or other innovative methodologies
  • Analyzing data, including Google Analytics, MRI, GWI, and other secondary platforms
  • Collaborating with Media and Comms teams on strategic foundations and mapping messaging and creative needs to comms and media plans
  • Writing and presenting reports, decks, or other client facing documentation

 

Our Must-Haves

  • Deep yet varied experience across many aspects of strategy: brand, comms, social, paid media, experiential, digital, go to market, etc. 
  • Strong working knowledge of consumer insight tools and resources
  • Experience in conducting qualitative and quantitative research methodologies
  • Exposure to working with VP and executive level clients
  • Bonus points for any of the following skills: 
    • Understanding of hispanic consumer insights
    • Previous experience with with start up or technology companies
    • Experience pitching & winning new business 

 

Where You’ve Been

  • 3+ years working as a strategist or account planner either in a creative agency setting or on the brand side
